Garry Pomeroy's turn to win this week ( He is the one on the left)
Bathurst Golf Vets report for game played Monday September 1
Hi everyone
Some housekeeping to start with- There will be no vets’ competition at the club next week due to the coring of the greens but if you are hanging out for a game you can come to Cowra Golf Club. James Hundy will be very happy to provide us with a game. The cost will be $20
Back to today’s game
A very good field of 52 Bathurst and Central West vets played a round of Monday’s vets golf at Bathurst Golf club. The good size field was mainly due to the Central West vest having to cancel the game scheduled at Wentworth Golf club due to the golf course wet conditions.
Best on the day today was a very good supporter of vet’s golf, Garry Pomeroy with an excellent score of 42 points. It could have been more had he not had a miss on the 17th.
Second was a regular visitor to our vet’s comps Darren Healey from Lithgow with 39 points on a countback from Chris Hadson. Both players had very solid rounds of 19 points on the front nine and 20 points on the back nine but Darren’s 15 points on the last six holes to Chris’ 14 sealed second place for him.
Tony Farr collected fourth place with 38 points and Justin Hadley took out fifth place with 37 points.
The ball sweep went down to 32 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Chris Hadson on the 4th , Ian Fitzgerald on the 8th, Gerard O’Neill on the 13th and Martin Everett on the 16th.
Prizes and Ball sweep
As mentioned earlier no vets golf at Bathurst next week due to coring of th egreens but you can come to Cowra and play there for $20. Be there between 9:00 and 10:00 to get a game
Next Bathurst vets’ game will be on Monday September 15
Next Central West vets’ game will be at Canowindra on September 15.
Good golfing everyone
