Bathurst Golf Vets results for Monday July 14

Before anything else, if you are going to Oberon next Monday, July 21, send me a text message on 0434 832 118 or email at bathurstgolfvets@gmail.com with your name and others in your group, preferred time and cart if you need one. No need for golflink numbers.

I have been promised by Oberon people that the weather is going to be beautiful just like today at Bathurst.

On with the golf report 

Another good field of 40 vets with golfers from Bathurst, Blayney and Lithgow enjoyed a round of vet’s golf on a very pleasant winter’s day at Bathurst golf club.

Best on the course today was Alex Blackett with a magnificent 41 points. Alex started strongly on the first nine with nothing but 2 and 3 pointers for 22 points. He slowed down a little on the back nine with a few 1pointers thrown in, but he still finished up with 19 points.

Second on the day was Chris Warry, another newcomer to vets’ golf, with 37 points. Chris started like a house on fire on the first nine with 22 points but unfortunately the wheels fell off on the back nine. We will chase up Chris for his membership fee later.  

Third spot went to Glen Hope with 36 points and fourth went to Darrell Bourke with 34 points on a countback from John Fagan who had to settle for a ball on the ball sweep.

The ball sweep went down to 32 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Dale Salter on the 4th, Mick Selman on the 8th, Geoff Coleman on the 13th and Ted Dell on the 16th.

Next game of Bathurst golf vets will on Monday July 21

Next game of Central West vets will be at challenging but always beautiful Oberon on July 21.
