Martin Everett winner of today's comp with a massive 42 points
Bathurst Golf Vets results for game played Monday, March 2
Hi everyone,
The Monday Bathurst vets game has been steadily growing for some time and today was not exception with a record number of 66 Bathurst vets and visitors playing in the comp.
The weather was good; the course was in very good condition with a reasonable amount of run on the fairways and well-paced greens. All the trademarks for good scoring and so it was with players needing 40 points or more to get a winning prize.
A countback was required to decide today’s winner when Martin Everett and David Galvin both returned scores of 42 points. Both players played consistent golf throughout the game scoring 21 points in each nine. The countback came down to the last three holes with Martin outscoring 7 points to David’s 5 points to take out the first place with David settling for second.
Another countback was also required to decide 3rd and 4th place when Jon Manton and Justin Hadley returned scores of 41 points. The decider came down to the last hole when both players had equal points on the last 9, 6, and 3 holes but Jon 2 points on the last to Justin 1 point got him 3rd place
Fifth place winner was Graham Lee with 40 points. Graham played solid golf throughout with 22 points on the front nine and 18 on the back nine.
Helen Fagan was the lucky winner of the last ball on the ball sweep with 33 points on a countback. The nearest to the pin winners were Darrell Bourke on the 4th, Martin Everett on the 8th, Helen Fagan on the 13th and David Travis on the 16th.
Last week's winners of the missing NTPs were Arthur Clancy on the 8th and Neville McMichael on the 13th.
