Hi everyone
The word is getting out that Bathurst Golf Club is the place to be for a game of vets’ golf on Mondays with another good field of 44 players including visitors from Lithgow, Blayney and Wellington enjoying a game of vets’ golf at the club today.
Best on the field today was Jon Manton who took out first place with a score of 39 points. Jon starting strongly on the front nine with 21 points and consolidated his round with a solid score of 18 points on the back nine.
Bob Lockhart was second with 38 points. Bob also started strongly with 21 points on the front nine, but he may lament the miss on the last hole that may have cost him the winning prize on the day.
A count back was required to decide third and fourth place when Neil Larcombe and Glenn Campbell from Lithgow both entered scores of 36 points. The count back was decided on the last 6 holes with Neil 12 points edging out Glenn 10 points.
Fifth place was also decided by countback when Graham Lee and Richard Ellis both returned scores of 35 points Graham’s 17 points on the back nine got him the fifth prize with Richard having to settled for a ball on the ball sweep.
The ball sweep went down to 31 points on a count back and the nearest to the pin winners were Jon Manton on the 4th, Garry Pomeroy on the 8th, Kevin Arrow on the 13th and Richard Ellis on the 16th
