Peter Chaffey watching a winning drive in today's comp
Bathurst golf vets report for game played Monday May 26
Hi everyone,
I would like to take the opportunity to welcome all club members who are new to Monday vets’ golf. We have known for quite a while that it is the best comp in the club for members of veteran age and we hope that you will also enjoy playing Monday’s vets golf as much as we have been doing for many years.
Back to golf, another good field of 43 Bathurst and visiting veteran golfers enjoy a game of Monday vets golf at the club today. It wasn’t the best of days, with the late rain putting a damper on the day, but everyone finished which was good to see, even if they went home a little wet.
Best on the day today was Peter Chaffey with the winning score of 38 points. Peter had a steady front nine of 17 points, but he came home with a wet sail to par 6 out of his last 7 holes for a back nine score of 21 points.
Second was Michael Selman with 36 points. Michael had an excellent start of 19 points on the front nine and consolidated his good round with a solid 17 points on the back nine.
Kevin Arrow took out third place with 35 points and Alex Blackett rounded up the prize winners winning fourth place with 34 points.
The ball sweep went down to 29 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Mick Selman on the 4th, Bill Dickie on the 8th, and Robert Peachman on the 13th. There were no names on the 16th hole marker but if anyone hit the green get a ball out of the box next time you play.
