Bathurst Golf vet’s game report for Monday June 16
Hi everyone,
A very good field of 31 Bathurst vet golfers were left in no doubt that winter had arrived when they fronted up to a game of Monday’s vets golf. The weather was cold, miserable and the pea soup fog didn’t lift until midday. Nevertheless, golf went on regardless because that is what we do on Monday morning.
On to golf results.
The fog lights must have been working overtime for Paul Rosconi and Bob Lockhart when both returned scores of 36 points for their rounds. A countback was required to decide the winner and when the fog cleared Paul was declared the winner with an excellent 21 points on the back nine. Bob started strongly with 20 points on the front nine but slowed down to 16 points on the back nine to settled for 2nd place. David Galvin claimed third place with 35 points.
The ball sweep went down to 27 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were David Galvin on the 4th, Eric Denholm on the 8th, Paul Rosconi on the 13th and Jon Manton on the 16th.
Some housekeeping before going on, if you haven’t paid up your membership fee yet, next Monday will be a good day to catch up with me. The membership fee is $20 per year, and you must be financial to play in Monday’s vets comp.
