Bathurst veteran golfers getting ready for another day of Monday's vets golf
Bathurst Vets golf report for Monday November 3
Hi everyone
Another big day at the Bathurst golf club with 57 veteran golfers enjoying a game of Monday’s vets’ golf. It was the biggest field of local vets we have had this year.
The weather was nice and warm, but the golf results were a lot warmer with countbacks required to decide all the prize winners.
We had a three-way countback to find todays winner when Paul Stirling, Stephen Little and David Warren all returned scores of 39 points. When the dust settled the computer worked out that Paul’s 22 points on the back nine deserved first place. Stephen and Warren both had 19 points on the back nine. The last six holes were also tied with 12 points each but Stephen 7 points on the last three holes got second place. David settled for third place.
There was also a count back to decide fourth and fifth place when Carlos Garibotto, Jon Manton, Tim Johnson and Alex Smith all had scores of 38 points. Carlos’ 22 points on the back nine got fourth place, Jon’s 21 points got him fifth and Tim and Alex had to settle for a ball on the ball sweep.
The ball sweep went down to 32 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were David Titcume on the 4th, Eric Denholme on the 8th, John Fagan on the 13th and Carlos Garibotto on the 16th
