Bathurst Golf vets’ results for game played Monday December 22
Hi everyone,
Before I go on with the report for today’s vets’ game, I will take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year. I would also like to thank you for the way you have supported Monday vets’ golf at Bathurst and the Central West Vets games
If you know of any new vet member who is not receiving these reports tell them to send me an email at bathurstgolfvets@gmail.com and I will add them to our database
On to the golf report
A strong field of 49 Bathurst vet golfers enjoyed a very pleasant day for a golf game.
One player who enjoyed the game more than most was Tim Kajon who took out first place in the comp with an excellent score of 39 points. Tim played as a visitor today, but he is well known to most of us as the son of Andy and Diane Kajon.
Second was Russell McCarthy with 37 points. Russell played solid golf throughout his round with 19 points on the front nine and 18 points on the back nine.
We have a two-way countback to decide third place when Matt Lester and Ian Fitzgerald both returned score of 35 points. Ian had a very good front nine of 21 points but he run out of puff on the back nine to let Matt in for third spot with a better back nine of 18 points.
A three-way countback was also needed to decide the fourth-place winner when Hal Rikard-Bell, Leo Attard and Darrell Bourke had scores of 33 points. Hal took out the fourth spot with the batter back nine of 18 points. Leo and Darrell had a settle for a ball on the ball sweep.
The ball sweep went down to 29 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Peter Warren on the 4th, Colin Hogg on the 8th, Matt Lester on the 13th and Darrell Bourke on the 16th
