Good to see Ash Lamb back on the golf course again. Not playing comp yet but, it will not be long before he does.
Bathurst Golf vets’ results for Monday June 2.
Hi everyone
Once again, a very good field of 39 veteran golfers played a game of vets’ golf at Bathurst Golf club. The weather was cold in the early morning which was only to be expected being the first week of winter, but the Sun came out mid-way through the game to make it a very pleasant day for golf.
On to golf.
We had a two-way countback to decide today’s winner when Michael Selman and Raymond McKinnon both had scores of 40 points. Michael had a slow start to his game with only 16 points for the front nine but came home with a wet sail for an excellent 24 points to win the countback and take way first prize. Ray’s game was a reversal to Michael’s. He scored 24 points on the front nine but blew out nothing but blue smoke on the back nine for 16 points and had to settle for second place.
Donald Hinks was third with a very good score of 37 points and Kim Jamieson took out fourth place with 36 points.
The ball sweep went down to 30 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Gary Pomeroy on the 4th, Geoff Arrow on the 8th, Ian Fitzgerald on the 13th and David Galvin on the 16th.
Prizes and ball sweep.
There will be no vets game next week due to the public holiday. The club has an open comp if you still want to keep the Monday golf habit going.
Next Bathurst vets’ game will be on Monday June 16.
Next Central West vets’ game will be at Canowindra on Monday June 16.
Good golfing everyone,
Manuel Pro
