Alex Blackett ready for a game of Bathurst local vets

Bathurst Golf Vets comp played Monday, July 17

Hi everyone,

A very good field of 36 veteran golfers turned up for a game of golf at Bathurst golf club for our usual Monday’s vets comp on a gorgeous winter’s day that felt more like Autum. Some frost and fog earlier but a beautiful 16 degrees when the sun got out.

On to the golf report

Once again, you need to bring your A game with you if you want to win a vets comp. Playing to your handicap is not enough and neither is 39 points as Alex Blackett found out, when Richard Ellis beat him to the post on a count back. Alex had to settle for second place. Paull Rosconi took out 3rd place with 38 points, Darrell Bourke was 4th with 37 points and Arthur Clancy got 5th place on a countback from Manuel Pro with 36 points.

The Ball sweep went down to 31 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were John Fagan on the 4th, Manuel Pro on the 8th, Paul Rosconi on the 13th and Danny Gooley on the 16th.

Don’t forget that next week we have the 2nd round of the Central West vet’s championships at Bathurst.

Good golfing everyone,
