Bathurst Golf Vets report for game played Monday, August 28

Hi everyone,

Housekeeping to start with

Next Monday, Sep 4, the Bathurst golf course will not be available due to coring of the greens however, you don’t have to miss out on a game of golf. I have organised a social game at Wentworth golf club, so if you are interested, get there between 8 and 9am and you will get a game. You can ring the proshop if you need a cart.

On to today’s results

A good field of 35 players enjoyed a beautiful late winter day with the temperature reaching 20 degrees. The weather was hot so was the quality of the golf with half the field reaching the magic number of 30+ points for the round.

Best player on the course today was Neil Haley with 38 points closely followed by Richard Ellis and Alex Blackett both on 37 points. Richard got second place on a count back from Alex.

A three-way count back was also required to find the fourth-place winner when Geoff Marshall, Glyn Samuel and Bruce Walker all retuned scores of 36 points. The computer gave Geoff the nod by a very small margin.

The ball sweep went down to 31 points and the nearest to the pin winners were David Gates of the 4th, Brett Corby on the 8th, Richard Ellis on the 13th and David Travis on the 16th.
