Bathurst Golf vets report for game played Monday September 28
Hi everyone,
Another very good field of 53 vets enjoyed a game of golf at the Bathurst golf club.
The weather was good and so were the scores with players enjoying a fair run on the fairways and the slow greens making scoring easier if you could get the ball to the hole.
Today’s comp winner was David Galvin with an excellent score of 42 points. David had a very good front nine of 21 points and continued his good form with another 21 points on the back nine.
Second was Graham Jones with 41 points. Graham had 22 points on the front nine and kept it going for another 19 points on the back nine.
We had a countback to decide 3rd and 4th places when Dick O’Donnell and Leo Attard returned cards of 40 points. Dick got the nod from the scorers for 3rd spot with a better score on the last six holes. Leo had to settle for fourth.
Another countback was required to decide the last prize winner when Robert Lockhart and Manuel Pro both scored 39 points. Bob’s 20 points on the back nine got him over the line for fifth spot. Manuel settled for a golf ball.
The ball sweep went down to 34 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Glenn Hope on the 4th and 16th, Manuel Pro on the 8th and Peter Chaffey on the 13th.
