Bathurst Golf vets report for Monday, June 22
Hi everyone,
A very good field of 43 Bathurst Vets played a round of vets’ golf at Bathurst Golf Club on Monday June 6. Unfortunately, the recent rain has taken out a lot of run of the fairways making it hard to get good distance of fairway shots and big scores hard to come by.
One player who had very little problem with it, was Peter Chaffey who took out first place with a very good score of 36 points. Peter started off like a house on fire with an excellent score of 20 points on the first nine and followed it up a solid 16 points on the back nine.
We had a four-way countback to determine second to fourth place when Bill Lambert, Graham Lee, Darrell Bourke and Murray Jewkes all completed their round with 35 points. They each got a $20 prize with bragging rights going to Bill 2nd, Graham 3rd, Darrell 4th and Murray 5th.
The ball sweep went down to 31 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Simon Dundon on the 4th, Chris Hadson on the 8th, Don Hinks on the 13th and Ian Fitzgerals on the 16th

The next round of Bathurst vets will be a Central West vets’ event on June 29. It will also be the final round of the Championships. It will be a big field so get your name down early to get your preferred spot.
The cost for the game will be $30 which will include morning tea on arrival and a light lunch at the completion of the game.
Good golfing everyone
