Bathurst golf vets’ results for game played Monday March 30

Hi everyone,

A field of 47 Bathurst golf vets that included visitors from Wentworth and Lithgow played a round of Monday vets golf at Bathurst golf club. This was a good size field considering that a large contingent of Bathurst vets played a round of Central West vets’ golf at Oberon Golf Club.

On to results.

A countback was required to decide today’s winner when Gary Miles and Wentworth visitor Doug Westcott returned cards of 38 points. Gary used all his local knowledge to win the countback with 22 points on the back nine. Doug’s had an excellent back nine of 21 points but had to settle for second spot.

We also had a countback to decide third and fourth place when Garry Pomeroy and Brian Hope returned scores of 37 points. Garry’s back nine of 18 points was good enough for third place edging out Brian into fourth place.

Another countback was also needed to decide the last winning prize when Robert Peachman from Lithgow and Murray Jewkes had scores of 36 points. Robert’s 19 points on the back nine were good enough to claim the last winning prize with Murray having to settle for a ball on the ball sweep.

The ball sweep went down to 31 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Brian Hope on the 4th, Chris Hadson on the 8th, Garry Pomeroy on the 13th and Graeme Walker on the 16th.

No Monday vets' comp next week due to the Easter week holiday

Next Bathurst vets’ game will be on Monday April 13

Next game of Central West vets will be at Wentworth on Monday April 13.
