Bathurst Golf Vets report for game played Monday November 2

Hi everyone,

Another good field of 50 Bathurst vets enjoyed a round of vets’ competition golf on Monday November 2

A large number of ladies club members are taking part on our weekly vets competitions and they are certainly enjoying the experience of playing vets golf on Mondays, if the quality of their golf has anything to do with it. Two of the top five places in the comp today went to Lady members.

Best of all players on the field today was Joy Kemp who took out first place with an excellent score of 40 points. Joy didn’t have it all her own way having to win a countback from Mark McKinnon who also scored 40. Joy’s 20 points on the back nine got her over the line for first place. Mark settled for second spot.

Third and fourth places were also decided on a countback when Jannelle Bestwick and Michael Selman both returned scores of 39 points. Jannelle’s 21 points on the back nine got her third spot with Michael settling for fourth spot.

Another countback was also required to decide the final prize when Garry Giddings, David Gates, Jonathan Manton and Colin Jameison all returned scores of 36 points. Garry took out fifth place with a massive score of 23 points on the back nine that included five consecutive pars.

The ball sweep went down to 33 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Mark McKinnon on the 4th, Peter Chaffey on the 8th, Pater Warren on the 13th and David Gates on the 16th,
