Bathurst Vets golf report for game played March 13

They say that if a golfer plays close to his or her handicap, they will go home happy after the game. Well, there were a lot of vets going home very happy today when 17 of them scored 33 points or better in the comp. Not bad for a field of 35 players.

Once again, players in B grade returned the best scores on the day with Wayne Chandler playing two excellent nines of 20 points for a 40 point total, to win on a countback from Michelle Kingham. Michelle had a very good first nine of 22 points but she may rue her miss on the 18th, to loose first place on a countback but 40 points still is an excellent score.

The winner in A grade was John Fagan with 38 points. Neil Larcombe was second with 37 points.

The ball sweep went down to 33 points and the nearest to the pin winners were Paul Rosconi on the 4th, Graham Lee on the 8th, Peter Plunkett on the 13th and James Johnson on the 16th.
