David Gates on his way to winning today's comp with 42 points

Bathurst vets golf report for Monday, July 3

Hi everyone,

If you want to know how good it is to play vet’s golf on Mondays, ask Graham Tyson and David Gates. They are both very happy man after their performance of the golf course today.

Graham had a “Hole In One” on the 13th. To my knowledge this is the first hole in one achieved in a Bathurst vet’s competition.

David also had a great day, scoring an excellent 42 points to win today’s competition. They were not the only one’ having a good game with half the field scoring 32 points or better.

On with results.

Today’s winner was the above-mentioned David Gates with 42 points. Second was Bill Dickie with 39 points. A count back was required to decide the next three places when Dick O’Donnell, Pieter Buining and Bill Lambert returned cards of 36 points. After the count back it was Dick who got third place, Pieter got fourth and Bill settled for fifth place.

The ball sweep went down to 32 points on a countback.

The nearest to the pin winners were David Gates on the 4th, Martin Meredith on the 8th, Graham Tyson on the 13th and Pieter Buining on the 16th.

For those of you really want to challenge their golfing skills come to the next Central West vets game on Monday, July 10 and test your golfing skills playing the sand greens at Molong. It will be an experience you will not forget in a hurry.

Until then may the Gods of golf be kind to you.
